Raw material procurement and Global Reach

Try to offer the best product for you

Our refinery based in Boksburg is used to refine quality chosen raw materials such as crude Sunflower, Rapeseed (canola), Palm and Coconut oils. As Sime Darby Hudson and Knight we are committed and support the responsible growing and sourcing of Sunflower seeds from South African farms. We use proudly South African Sunflower and Canola seeds that are sourced and crushed through our third party seed crusher located onsite.

Most of our tropical raw materials come from sustainable sources: thee states of our Sime Darby plantations in Malaysia and Indonesia. Sime Darby, our parent company, is a founding member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Being the world’s largest producer of sustainable palm oil, Sime Darby Plantation is involved in the full spectrum of the palm oil value chain. Our upstream operations encompass more than 250 estates and 70 mills where fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from our estates are delivered to our mills to be processed into crude palm oil (CPO).

The application of RSPO Principles Criteria ensures that we adhere to environmental best practices, biodiversity conservation, and social protection in areas of our operation. Macroeconomic factors play a major role in the complex sourcing of raw materials which can ultimately affect input costs and uncertainty regarding the availability of raw materials.

Our global reach enables us to tap into our sister companies in 16 other countries strategically located around the globe in order to efficiently manage our raw materials. Our supply chain operations enables us to provide ourc ustomers with product solutions that may not be available from our South African operations.
